Lasaulec is an international technical wholesaler with a wide range of products. To make late order times and next-day delivery possible, the warehouse layout was completely revised.

The logistical challenge

The existing shelf warehouse took up a lot of space and limited picking capacity. Scalability, speed and reliability were insufficient to support further growth.

Vanas's solution

Vanas translated Lasaulec's logistical ambitions into a scalable and efficient warehouse concept that focuses on speed, reliability and flexibility. The design starts from the need to make late ordering times possible without sacrificing delivery reliability or ergonomics.

The core of the solution consists of an extensive system of Modula vertical lifts, implemented in phases to guarantee operational continuity. After a first successful phase with eight lifts, the installation was expanded to a total of 32 Modula lifts. These lifts make maximum use of the warehouse height and replace a classic multi-storey shelf warehouse.

Each lift is equipped with dual remote workstations, graphical LED bars and drop-to-light support. This allows multiple order lines to be processed in parallel and the picking is controlled intuitively and error-free. Order pickers don't have to move: products are automatically brought to them at an ergonomic working height.

The entire installation is integrated with Lasaulec's ERP system. All picking movements, stock changes and logistical actions are registered and fed back in real time. This results in an exceptionally high stock accuracy and eliminates the need for manual inventories.

In addition, the lifts and controls ensure that both small and larger product dimensions can be stored and picked flexibly. The system was designed with a view to further expansion and today forms the backbone of the logistics process at Lasaulec.
