Dozon is a total supplier for interior construction, window industry, contracting and installation & assembly. From their existing warehouse, they supply customers in the construction sector with a wide and technically diverse range of products every day.

With an expected growth of 50% in order lines in the medium term, optimizing warehouse processes became crucial.

The logistical challenge

The existing building did not offer enough space to make classical expansion possible. At the same time, Dozon needed to be prepared for strong growth in order lines without sacrificing error-free work and productivity.

The challenge was:

• increasing storage capacity within the same footprint
• to increase picking productivity
• keeping error margins stable
• better to structure inbound and outbound

Vanas's solution

Vanas designed a scalable logistics concept where vertical lifts, a mezzanine and a smart sorting solution work seamlessly together. The core of the solution consists of a pick-and-pass configuration with seven elevators, linked to a mezzanine floor.

In addition, an inbound zone was set up with five decanting tables, good for processing 800 to 900 order lines per day. A smart sorting solution with six dynamic lanes, controlled by Vanas software, ensures fast and error-free order processing.
