About Batenburg Fastening Technology

Batenburg Beveiligingstechniek is active as a technical wholesaler and processes a large volume of small packaging every day. To make their logistics processes future-proof, the existing warehouse concept was thoroughly reviewed.

The logistical challenge

Small packages were stored in a deep and high rack warehouse, where order picking was done with man-up trucks. Pickers lost a lot of time traveling and waiting times, while ergonomics and efficiency were under pressure.

Batenburg was looking for a solution that:

Vanas's solution

Vanas implemented seven Modula vertical lifts, divided into two picking zones, linked via a roller conveyor system. Thanks to the double external transport of the lifts, goods are presented quickly and ergonomically.

Inbound goods are scanned and automatically sent to the correct lift via the WMS Gigasoft. Outbound bins also move automatically via roller conveyors to the elevators and packaging department. The order comes to the employee, not vice versa.
